๐ Easy Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft for Kids
There’s something so cozy about fall — the crisp air, warm colors, and of course… pumpkins! This simple paper plate pumpkin craft is a fun, affordable activity you can do with your little ones at home. It’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, but even older kids will enjoy putting their own creative twist on it.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 paper plate
- Orange paint (or orange tissue paper squares)
- Green construction paper
- Brown construction paper or a brown pipe cleaner (for the stem)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Black marker (optional — for a jack-o’-lantern face)
Instructions:
- Paint the Plate
Start by painting the paper plate orange. Let your child take charge — they’ll love seeing their pumpkin come to life! If you don’t have paint, glue small squares of orange tissue paper all over the plate instead for a textured look. - Make the Stem
Cut a small rectangle from brown construction paper or twist a short brown pipe cleaner. Glue it to the top of the plate to form the stem. - Add the Leaf
Cut a leaf shape out of green construction paper and glue it beside the stem. - Decorate Your Pumpkin
You can keep it simple and cute or draw a fun jack-o’-lantern face with a black marker. Let your kids be creative — silly faces, friendly smiles, or no face at all! - Optional Touch
Punch a small hole at the top and thread a piece of yarn or ribbon through it. Now you can hang your pumpkin on the wall, fridge, or window for an easy fall decoration.
Mom Tip:
Write your child’s name and the year on the back of their pumpkin before packing it away — it makes a sweet keepsake you’ll love pulling out every fall.
