Stay Away from Evil and Hold Tight to God’s Light
In today’s world, it’s easy to become desensitized to things that seem harmless on the surface — celebrations, shows, or symbols that actually glorify darkness. But God’s Word is clear: we are to have no fellowship with the works of darkness, only with the light of Christ.
Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
When we entertain evil, even in small ways, it opens the door for spiritual confusion and distraction from God’s truth. The Bible warns us to stay away from witchcraft, familiar spirits, and any form of evil — not because God wants to take our fun, but because He wants to protect our souls.
Deuteronomy 18:10–12 (KJV)
“There shall not be found among you… an enchanter, or a witch… or a consulter with familiar spirits… For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord.”
As followers of Christ, we’re called to stand apart from the world — to reflect His light instead of blending into the darkness around us. Even when it feels unpopular, choosing purity and righteousness honors the Lord.
Romans 12:9 (KJV)
“Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”
When you say no to things that glorify evil, you’re saying yes to peace, purity, and power in the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to recognize what is not of You and give me the strength to turn away from it. Let Your light fill my heart and guide my choices. I want to walk in purity and truth, reflecting Your goodness in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
