🍁 Fall Leaf Suncatcher Craft

This easy Fall Leaf Suncatcher is a beautiful way for kids to celebrate autumn! It looks like stained glass when hung in the window, and it’s simple enough for little hands to help with.

What You’ll Need

  • Coffee filters
  • Washable markers (reds, oranges, yellows, browns)
  • Spray bottle or cup of water
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • String or tape for hanging

Instructions

  1. Draw on the coffee filter: Have your child color the entire coffee filter with fall colors — no need to stay in the lines!
  2. Add water: Lightly spray or drip water over the colored filter. Watch as the colors blend together like magic!
  3. Let dry: Place it on a paper towel and let it dry completely.
  4. Cut into leaf shapes: Once dry, draw a leaf outline and cut it out.
  5. Hang it up: Tape or hang the finished leaf in a sunny window to let the light shine through.

Mom Tip

Try making several in different shapes — maple, oak, and heart-shaped leaves. String them together for a homemade fall garland!
