π Fall Leaf Suncatcher Craft
This easy Fall Leaf Suncatcher is a beautiful way for kids to celebrate autumn! It looks like stained glass when hung in the window, and it’s simple enough for little hands to help with.
What You’ll Need
- Coffee filters
- Washable markers (reds, oranges, yellows, browns)
- Spray bottle or cup of water
- Scissors
- Pencil
- String or tape for hanging
Instructions
- Draw on the coffee filter: Have your child color the entire coffee filter with fall colors — no need to stay in the lines!
- Add water: Lightly spray or drip water over the colored filter. Watch as the colors blend together like magic!
- Let dry: Place it on a paper towel and let it dry completely.
- Cut into leaf shapes: Once dry, draw a leaf outline and cut it out.
- Hang it up: Tape or hang the finished leaf in a sunny window to let the light shine through.
Mom Tip
Try making several in different shapes — maple, oak, and heart-shaped leaves. String them together for a homemade fall garland!
